Easter 2024: The Most Magnificent Moments Captured with the British Royal Family

Each Easter Sunday, the British royal family convenes at Windsor, making their way to St. George’s Chapel for services, where they are often captured in a collective stride. Post-service, a customary roast lamb lunch awaits them at the Castle.

While the contemporary Windsors’ participation in an Easter egg hunt remains uncertain, historical accounts reveal a long-standing royal tradition. In 1833, a youthful Princess Victoria recounted her joy in discovering painted eggs, a practice continued by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, as noted in a 1869 journal entry.

This year’s Easter gathering diverges from past events. Prince William and Kate Middleton, due to Kate’s recent cancer diagnosis, will be absent with their children. Additionally, King Charles’s own diagnosis renders the affair notably smaller.
